Seminars - Short Bios

Alan Danaher, P.E., PTOE, AICP, PTP, is a Senior Supervising Engineer with PB Americas, Inc. out of its Orlando office. He has 35 years experience in transportation and transit planning and traffic engineering. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and a maste'rs degree in civil engineering (with an urban transportation planning specialty) from Northwestern University. Mr. Danaher formerly worked with two public transit agencies: Tri-met in Portland, Oregon and the Denver Regional Transportation District. He is a national expert on bus rapid transit and transit signal priority systems and has led major research on BRT and priority systems, including preparation of a national practitioner's guide on BRT applications. Mr. Danaher is a member of the Advisory Board of the National BRT Institute and a member of the APTA BRT Standards Working Group. He also is chair of the TRB Transit Capacity and Quality of Service Committee, Vice Chair of the ITE Transit Council and is on the ITE Coordinating Council. Mr. Dahaner is a licensed engineer in eight states and a licensed planner.
